A New Bunion Removal Procedure Is Helping People Get On Their Feet Quicker
November 10, 2019 – In an interview on KOTA Territory, the ABC affiliate in Rapid City, South Dakota, Dr. Ryan Putnam with Black Hills Orthopedic and Spine Center explains “traditional bunion surgery has problems with multiple operations, multiple ways of doing it and a lot of lack of predictability. Part of that is the lack of ability to weight-bear early on.”
However, unlike traditional bunion surgery, the outcome of Lapiplasty® 3D Bunion Correction™ is “more predictable – you can be on your foot sooner [in a protected walking boot] and be out of work or out of your regular activities for less time.” 1
Dr. Putnam, who has conducted more than 40 Lapiplasty® surgical training workshops nationally, explains there are roughly “400,000 procedures done annually, so [bunions] are a big problem.” 2 But, for people with bunion symptoms such as “pain in shoes” and those who “have tried wider shoes, spacers and sleeves” there is now a better solution; the Lapiplasty® Procedure.
